AN APPEAL TO ALL THOSE WILLING TO HELP

Dear Sir/Madam,

  The Board of the Association to Help Children with Bileduct and Liver Diseases "LIVER" in Cracow appeals to all of you to offer financial help to 17-year-old twins, PIOTR AND PAWEL SZPRUTA, needed to buy urostomy equipment.

  PIOTR and PAWEL SZPRUTA are among the 272 children cared for by the LIVER Association in Cracow, 26 of whom suffer from advanced hepatic failure. All those children have a history of serious operations....
Our children are in every age. Each child requires constant care and they are all the time at risk of death.

Serious, complicated disease (Byler`s disease - condition after partial external evacuation of bile) that Piotr and Pawel suffer from, requires constant use of auxiliary urostomy equipment. The free equipment given by the local health care centre-financed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare- in the amount of 5 urostomy bags a month, is by far insufficient. The children need at least 11 bags more per each of them, which makes 22 pcs x 12 months = 264 urostomy bags (plate + bag + sealing and curative paste). The price of one kit is PLN 19.30 multiplied by 264 pcs, gives PLN 5,095.20 + cost of paste in the amount of 15 tubes annualy which gives a total of PLN 5,583.

Each donation means alleviated suffering. Do not stay indifferent - help the suffering children!

WE APPEAL TO ALL THE PEOPLE OF GOOD WILL - HELP TO BUY AUXILIARY UROSTOMY EQUIPMENT FOR THE 17-YEAR-OLD TWINS, PIOTR AND PAWEL

  Thanks to the activity of LIVER Association in Cracow, since June 1992 until now, the lives of 82 children have been saved in West-European hospitals co-operating with the Association. 63 children have had successful liver transplants (by various methods), 2 have been qualified to receive family liver transplants in Paris and Brussels.
This has been possible due to the generosity of a number of kind hearted people from Poland and abroad.
